Steptronic Sport transmission.

The 8-speed Steptronic sport transmission offers both comfortable and sporty gear changes – automatically and also manually via rocker switch.

M Sport differential.

Especially when changing lanes, cornering or when there are changing road conditions, the M Sport differential improves traction and driving stability. Thanks to the permanent, continuously variable differential lock control and electronically controlled multi-disc lock, you experience optimum grip and directional stability in every driving situation.

TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS.

The Adaptive M suspension comes as a standard and makes it possible to adjust the damper characteristics to suit any given driving situation, increasing driving dynamics and comfort. In addition to the standard COMFORT setting for increased driving comfort, the SPORT program offers more direct damper settings, and SPORT+ for use on the racetrack.

The 8-speed M Steptronic sport transmission with Drivelogic offers numerous shifting options: extremely dynamic, particularly comfortable and smooth aswell as fuel-saving. You can shift manually using the gear lever or the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, or select one of three automatic programmes using Drivelogic.

The optional M Carbon ceramic brake delivers braking power even more directly. The brake is non-corrosive and tolerates even more heat. It impresses with extremely minimal wear and contributes to a lower vehicle weight, which has a positive impact on agility, dynamics and acceleration. The special technical equipment is visible through calipers in the colour Gold matt with M logo on the outside.

M xDrive with Active M Differential guarantees maximum traction and driving dynamics for everyday driving, as well as at the racetrack. The M specific technology combines the typical agility of a rear-wheel drive with the control of an all-wheel drive. There is a choice between the drive variants 4WD, 4WD Sport and – in DSC-off mode – 2WD.

The BMW M3 Touring features an integrated braking system with precise pedal feel and M specific configurability. The new system combines brake activation, brake booster and braking control functions within a compact module. It also presents the driver with two pedal feel settings – COMFORT and SPORT modes alter the amount of pressure on the brake pedal required to slow the car.

The M Mode button on the centre console, thereby allowing drivers to dial up the purity of the performance experience in the BMW M3 Touring as and when desired. When they switch from the default ROAD setting to SPORT mode, interventions from the driver assistance systems are suspended, with the exception of inputs from the Collision Warning with brake function and the Evasion Assistant. The TRACK mode designed purely for driving on race circuits fully deactivates the assistance systems.
