The new MINI Cooper Convertible embodies three generations of MINI design – but with a personality very much its own. In the front, its bold and clean surfaces are brilliantly punctuated by the iconic, round adaptive front lights, new bumper design and aerodynamically optimised grill. The electrically powered, 3-in-1 roof is a little different to others on the road. Its quiet, intelligent Z-folding mechanism fully opens in about 18 seconds flat, even when driving at speeds of up to 30 km/h (18 mph). It also comes with a sunroof mode which lets in up to 40 cm of sunshine for a pleasant city drive.

Yes, the soft top roof folds electronically about 20 seconds even while you’re driving at speeds of up to 32 km/h. It has three settings, including MINI's hallmark sunroof mode, and the roof slides back to allow up to 40 cm of light to stream in. You can open or close it remotely when the car’s parked. You can even get a ‘rain warner’ app for your smartphone to tell you to close the roof of your car if it’s likely to rain where you’ve parked it. 
It drives very similarly to its MINI Cooper equivalent, with the roof not really having any negative effect on the handling. You enjoy plenty of grip, as well as excellent agility when you take corners. There are two performance levels to choose from – Cooper and Cooper S. They both have a 2.0 litre TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder petrol engine. But whichever you choose, they both deliver an exhilarating drive that’ll make you breathless at corners.
It is more luxurious than ever, with more features on board, too. It comes with the stunning, frameless OLED display that combines the functions of the instrument cluster and the on-board monitor and infotainment hub. The design of the seats catches the eye, too, and now boasts a fresh combination of new colours and patterns. And the sports steering wheel offers an especially good grip and lends your interior a confident, sporty character.
