The Motability Scheme offers an all-inclusive package that allows anyone in receipt of either:

The Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HMRC DLA), the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP), the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP), to use their mobility allowance to lease a car, scooter, powered wheelchair or wheelchair accessible vehicle.

You may be entitled to join the Motability scheme if you receive any of the following government-funded allowances (with at least 12 months’ award length remaining):

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
  • Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
  • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

Eligible allowance includes the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS), the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP), Enhanced Rate Mobility Part of Adult Disability Payment (Scotland only) or Higher Rate Mobility Component of Child Disability Payment (Scotland only).
