Bowker Motor Group has appointed Chris Eccles as Managing Director and Head of Business at its BMW and MINI centres in Preston.
Chris steps into the role after serving as Managing Director at Bowker Blackburn, a role he will retain. With 25 years at Bowker, he will now also lead the Preston dealership while also mentoring the wider leadership teams across both Preston and Blackburn sites.
The appointment forms part of Bowker Motor Group’s 2026 growth strategy, aimed at strengthening leadership and aligning operations across its Lancashire-based centres. Eccles will oversee day-to-day performance at the Preston dealership while supporting senior managers as they take on new roles.
Chris Eccles said: “After more than two decades at Bowker, it’s a privilege to take the reins at Preston. I’m looking forward to working closely with the team here while continuing to support the wider leadership group across both sites.”
The new role at Preston represents a return to where it all started for Chris at Bowker. He joined Bowker Preston in April 2000 and spans several senior management roles, including previous positions as Sales Manager and Head of Business. As Managing Director at Blackburn, he led the dealership through multiple operational developments and played a central role in shaping Bowker’s customer service approach and staff development programmes.
His appointment in Preston follows a series of internal promotions across the business, including new leadership roles at both BMW and MINI dealerships. The changes reflect Bowker’s focus on succession planning and long-term leadership development.
