In our state-of-the-art Centres across Lancashire, Bowker Motor Group are proud to represent some of world’s most prestigious and iconic car and motorcycle manufacturers.

Bowker was established in 1919 when William Bowker used his war gratuity to buy the first vehicle. He began making local deliveries in Lancashire earning a reputation for a pioneering spirit and an innovative approach to industry’s needs. It wasn’t long before he’d assembled one of the largest fleets in the area.

The Company diversified its activities in 1984 with the acquisition of Clock Garage in Accrington – the BMW retailer for East Lancashire. Today the franchise portfolio includes BMW, MINI, BMW Motorrad, Porsche and INEOS Grenadier, with Centres in Preston and Blackburn.

Bowker Ribble Valley, based on the A59 at Osbaldeston, specialises in retailing prestige and sports cars. With a fully equipped workshop and factory trained ATA Technicians, they provide all makes car servicing and repairs including MOT and tyre fitting.

WH Bowker Limited is founded in Blackburn by William Henry Bowker, providing road transport services.

BMW franchise acquired at Clock Garage on Whalley Road in Accrington to serve East Lancashire.

Clock Garage relocates to larger premises on Hyndburn Road in Accrington (Bowker Accrington).

1989

Second BMW franchise acquired at Kinders Ashton Garage in Preston to serve Central Lancashire.

Kinders Ashton Garage relocates to new dealership on Preston Docklands (Bowker Preston).

Awarded the MINI franchise at both Accrington and Preston. One of the first Groups to have stand alone facilities separate to BMW showrooms.

Bowker Accrington relocates to 3 acre site on Trident Park in Blackburn (Bowker Blackburn).

Harley-Davidson motorcycle franchise opens on Stand Road in Preston (Preston Harley-Davidson).

Bowker Ribble Valley opened in Osbaldeston in Autumn 2012 following £750,000 investment in Bay Horse Garage on the A59.

Bowker Maserati

Appointed as official Maserati dealer for the North West and new showroom opens at Bay Horse Garage on the A59 in autumn.

Purchase of 1 acre Customs House site, adjoining Bowker Preston, in September 2014. In April, Bowker Preston BMW complete £1m showroom refurbishment in transition from dealer to retailer.

Bowker Motorrrad opens October 2015 in Preston following £1.25m site development of the adjoining Customs House 1 acre site.

Porsche franchise acquired and Porsche Centre Preston opens on Watery Lane in Preston.

INEOS Grenadier franchise acquired, opening its showroom at Bay Horse Garage on the A59.
