Bowker Blackburn and Bowker Preston are part of a successful, well-established family-owned Motor Group and we’re looking for Apprentice BMW/MINI Vehicle Technicians to join our Centres on Trident Park Blackburn and Preston Docklands.
You’ll be working in state-of-the-art Workshops with fully funded training at the BMW UK Training Academy, on full pay plus great benefits.
The Role:
Joining us as an Apprentice Vehicle Technician offers you the opportunity to thrive. You’ll develop your career with two of the world’s most prestigious automotive brands, working alongside some of the industry’s best talent.
As an Apprentice Vehicle Technician, you’ll be involved in all aspects of maintenance and repair from routine servicing to complete component overhaul of vehicle systems. Your Apprenticeship, in conjunction with the BMW Training Academy at Wokefield Park, Reading, will focus on Light Vehicle and Maintenance and Repair with the overall programme lasting three years. On completion, you will have a formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent). You will be partnered with one of our own Technicians who will mentor you throughout your Apprenticeship journey.
You’ll use the very latest hi-tech diagnostic procedures and equipment on the most sophisticated electronic and computer-controlled vehicle systems. You will gain experience in: Wheels, Tyres, Steering, Suspension and Braking Systems, Service Inspection and Maintenance, Pre and Post work activates, Diagnosis and Rectification of Light Vehicle Engine Faults, Chassis etc. Once trained as a technician you will be expected to carry out a wide variety of tasks from routine maintenance to full overhaul.
Our ideal candidate will ideally have achieved Grades 4-9 in Maths and English, although this is not mandatory.
Working days are Monday to Friday, with Saturday mornings on a rota basis.
