Are you Eligible for Motability?
To be eligible to join the Motability Scheme, you need to receive one of the following disability benefits and you must have at least 12 months’ award length remaining. Please note that the Attendance Allowance cannot be used to lease a car through the Scheme.
- Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
- Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
- Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
Benefits of the Motability Scheme include:
- A new BMW every three years
- 60,000 mile allowance or 100,000 miles for Wheelchair Adapted Vehicles (WAV)
- Insurance included
- All servicing, maintenance, windscreen and tyre replacement costs built-in
- Accident and breakdown cover
- Many adaptations at no extra cost
- Ability to nominate up to three named drivers
- High level of standard specification including BMW Navigation, with conventional metallic paint option at no extra cost
- Unique BMW driving dynamics and innoative technologies
- Choice of manual or automatic transmission and various trims, with a plug-in hybrid model available (BMW 2 Series Active Tourer)
ADAPTIONS.
In some cases, your motoring experience could be dramatically improved by simply choosing the right BMW for your needs. Features such as automatic transmission, push button ignition and height-adjustable seating positions can all help make driving, or travelling, easier and are adaptations to make your BMW easier, safer or more comfortable to use, you’ll be pleased to know that many of the most popular additional cost when fitted at the start of your Contract Hire lease. Others will require payment as part of your Advance Payment.
The Motability Managed Adaptations Programme has been designed to cover the adaptations process for you from start to finish and to ensure that all work is carried out by an approved installer.

No. Signing up to the Scheme is simple and we handle the whole process for you. It also takes the hassle out of owning a car as insurance as well as servicing and maintenance are all covered and once you’ve had the car for three years we will replace it with a new one.
You can have up to two other named drivers on the car under the Motability
Scheme, so you don’t have to be the sole driver. You, plus one other person can
be the named driver, or in instances where the person eligible is unable to drive,
you can have two others (such as a parent and a carer) as the named drivers on the vehicle.
Aside from the cost of fuel, your Motability Scheme lease covers everything you need to keep your car running smoothly, including maintenance and servicing, so that you can enjoy worry-free motoring without the hassle of unexpected bills or repairs and enjoy the unique BMW driving experience.
